IITGN Greater Noida: Connectivity — Airports, Expressways, Rail, Metro & RRTS

The Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida (IITGN) sits beside the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and the Delhi-Howrah rail line, 11 km from Pari Chowk, giving it existing road and rail links plus several under-construction and proposed metro, RRTS and freight-corridor upgrades still to be completed.

Location and road access

The Integrated Industrial Township-Greater Noida (IIT-GN), spanning 747 acres, is a flagship DMIC project located southeast of Greater Noida, abutting the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Delhi-Howrah railway line. Located just 11 km from Pari Chowk, the site offers excellent connectivity via Delhi-Howrah Railway Line, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and proximity to the Boraki transit hub and Dadri logistics hub. Strategically connected via expressways, national highways, and proximity to IGI, Jewar, and Hindon airports, the township ensures unmatched accessibility.

The project is located near the intersection of eastern and western dedicated freight corridors, with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway to the south and the Delhi-Howrah broad gauge railway line to the east.

Airports

No airport sits inside IITGN itself; the township relies on three airports in the wider NCR, at different stages of operation as of July 2026.

Rail and rapid-rail links to Jewar airport are still being built: a Palwal–Noida International Airport–Khurja Railway line (61 km) is under construction, which will connect the airport to the New Delhi–Mumbai and Amritsar–Kolkata main rail lines, and a Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS is planned as a 71.1 km rapid rail corridor with 11 stations, to be developed in two phases.

Expressways and highways

Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) — operational. Spanning 135 km with 6 lanes, EPE provides an outer bypass for heavy traffic away from Delhi, reducing congestion and pollution by diverting commercial vehicles. A new cloverleaf interchange connecting it with Yamuna Expressway is scheduled to be completed by mid‑2026. IITGN sits directly against this expressway.

Yamuna Expressway — operational. The 165 km expressway connects Greater Noida with Agra, and is an arterial route for residents, tourists, and logistics firms. It is also the primary road link to Noida International Airport.

Noida–Greater Noida Expressway — operational. This vital expressway integrates Delhi, Noida, and Greater Noida – acting as a scenic and economic conduit for professionals.

A proposed 30 km expressway directly linking Delhi to Jewar International Airport via Noida is planned, aiming to shorten travel time further, but is not yet built as of mid-2026.

Rail and dedicated freight corridors

IITGN's rail connectivity is anchored by the Delhi-Howrah main line and the freight corridor network passing near the site.

Metro and RRTS proposals

Noida Metro Aqua Line — operational. Noida and Greater Noida are connected via the Aqua Line, which runs from Sector-51 Metro Station to Greater Noida Depot (29.707 km) and connects to the Blue Line at Sector-52 Metro Station (DMRC).

Three extensions have moved from proposal to funded planning stage as of the UP FY2026-27 budget:

A longer-range proposal, the Boraki–IGI high-speed metro, would connect the Greater Noida railway station to IGI Airport, via Pari Chowk, Badarpur, Delhi, Tughlakabad, Khanpur and Mehrauli before terminating at the IGI airport, through high-speed metro rail (max speed 160 km/h) covering the distance in about 40 minutes. This remains at the proposal stage.

RRTS: Two RRTS corridors bear on the region. The Haryana government officially approved the Gurugram–Faridabad–Noida RRTS corridor in May 2025; NCRTC completed the Detailed Project Report in December 2025, and as of May 2026 the project is awaiting final approvals from both state governments. Construction is expected to take about 4.5 years, meaning the corridor could be operational by 2031. Separately, a Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS is planned as a 71.1 km rapid rail corridor with 11 stations, to be developed in two phases, intended to serve the airport rather than IITGN directly.

Ports

IITGN is landlocked with no direct port connectivity. The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor is built along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor between Delhi and Mumbai, covering a total distance of 1,504 km, and passes through Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra, which is what ultimately links the corridor, at its far end, to west-coast container ports. No specific port-linked cargo route serving IITGN has been announced as of July 2026.

Internal road network and plug-and-play infrastructure

Within the plot boundary, IITGN is marketed on ready, plot-level infrastructure rather than a named internal road hierarchy. The township offers a "plug & play" advantage — seamless industry setup with contiguous land parcels and ready infrastructure at plot level. Around 155 acres of land is available for industrial use and 111 acres for other uses like residential, commercial and institutional development, served by internal roads built as part of the ₹1,714 crore project cost. Separately, Greater Noida authorities have inaugurated resurfacing of key 60-metre wide roads in Greater Noida West to improve wider-area connectivity, and projects for a new underpass at a chokepoint and foot overbridges have had foundation stones laid to enhance transportation in the surrounding Greater Noida road network.

Frequently asked questions

Is IITGN close to an airport?

Yes. Noida International Airport at Jewar, roughly in the Pari Chowk distance band from IITGN (Pari Chowk to the airport is about 40 km), began commercial flights on 15 June 2026. Delhi's IGI Airport and Hindon Airport are also within the region's reach.

Is there a metro station inside IITGN?

Not yet. The nearest operating metro line is the Noida Aqua Line (Sector 51 to Greater Noida Depot). A 2.6 km extension from the Depot to the planned Boraki Multi Modal Transport Hub, budgeted at ₹416 crore, is in the planning pipeline but not built as of mid-2026.

Will RRTS reach IITGN?

No RRTS line runs directly to IITGN. The nearby Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS (71.1 km, 11 stations) and the Gurugram–Faridabad–Noida RRTS corridor are both still in planning/approval stages, with the latter awaiting final state government sign-off as of May 2026 and a targeted 2031 completion.

What expressway runs alongside IITGN?

The Eastern Peripheral Expressway, a 135 km, 6-lane outer bypass around Delhi, abuts the township directly. The Yamuna Expressway (165 km, to Agra) and the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway are also within reach.

Does a dedicated freight corridor serve IITGN?

The site is located near the intersection of the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors, and the Delhi-Howrah broad-gauge rail line runs along its eastern boundary.

When was IITGN inaugurated?

The township, built at a cost of about Rs 1,714 crore, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January 2024.
