Road, drainage and connectivity parameters were also part of the DPR scope: the DPR will detail road widths, drainage systems, underground cabling, grid-based road networks and integrated metro rail connectivity to prevent future traffic congestion.

Practical effect: how land will be allocated

The decision fixes the process by which companies can obtain land in Bharat Future City. Project approvals will be through global tenders, sources added. Chief Minister A. Two early corporate proposals were cited at the time of the announcement: Reliance Group's Vantara initiative has proposed a world-class zoo and eco-tourism zone, while Salman Khan Ventures Pvt Ltd has announced a ₹10,000-crore integrated township and film studio project. Context: Telangana Rising Global Summit

The DPR appointment was announced around the state's flagship investment event. Several reputed companies expressed interest in launching operations in Bharat Future City during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 held earlier this month. The summit itself was held at Bharat Future City in Mucherla on December 8 and 9, and used the site partly as a live showcase for the project.

Which body governs the decision

Bharat Future City is administered by the Future City Development Authority (FCDA), a statutory body created ahead of this DPR appointment. What happened next (status update)

As of April 2026, the follow-on master-plan tender process — distinct from the Surbana Jurong DPR appointment covered in this record — had progressed: As of April 2026, the project has reached a critical milestone. Out of an initial pool of 12 global applicants, six prominent firms are now in the final race to prepare the Master Plan-2047. While many consultancy firms initially requested a one-year window to map out the sprawling 1.80 lakh acres, the government has held firm on a December 2026 completion target.

Earlier, bidding for that broader master plan had opened: 12 companies have officially submitted applications in response to the global tender notification. Bids are scheduled to open on March 16, 2026.
