CM Revanth Reddy Inaugurates FCDA Headquarters, Marks 'Golden Chapter' in Bharat Future City Development

The FCDA zone covers 765.28 sq km spanning 56 revenue villages across seven mandals south of the Outer Ring Road, with the initial development phase focusing on around 30,000 acres, of which nearly 13,000 acres have been identified as the priority development zone.

The proposed FCDA region currently falls under multiple planning jurisdictions. Parts of the northern section overlap with areas covered by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, while the central portion includes the proposed Hyderabad Pharma City. Large stretches of the southern region continue to be predominantly rural and lack a statutory land-use framework. A unified master plan will help avoid fragmented development and provide a coordinated roadmap for future growth.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy assured that the government would examine the requests being received to merge more villages into the prestigious Bharat Future City project and take an appropriate decision. He gave in-principle approval for the inclusion of certain villages and stated that a decision on the remaining villages would be taken after holding discussions with all stakeholders concerned. Specific villages proposed for inclusion include those from Kandukur and Maheshwaram mandals.

The authority will be chaired by Revanth Reddy himself and include 11 senior officials from various departments, forming a high-powered decision-making body. The project will be managed by deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka and IT minister Sridhar Babu who will have to visit Future City on a weekly basis.

Built as a strategic command centre for the future development of IT, artificial intelligence and life sciences clusters in Future City, the FCDA office has been equipped with modern workstations modelled on leading IT and software companies. The FCDA headquarters has achieved a significant milestone even before its formal inauguration by securing recognition from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) as an environmentally sustainable building. The office has been classified as a Net Zero Building in view of its eco-friendly design, use of environmentally safe construction materials, scientific rainwater harvesting systems and renewable energy initiatives.

The firm has been tasked with preparing a comprehensive master plan for the project within a period of nine months from the June 10, 2026 work order, targeting March 2027. However, the master plan covering this entire zone will not be finalised until December 2026 according to some official statements regarding finalization timelines.
