Revanth Reddy Announces Singapore Consultants Will Design Bharat Future City Master Plan; December 2026 Unveiling Set

Announcement and Strategy

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made announcement on 4:39 pm, 1 August 2026 regarding his Dream Project, the Future City. At the 3rd meeting of CII Northern Regional Council 2026-2027, Reddy highlighted 'Telangana Rising - Vision 2047' and outlined government initiatives aimed at achieving a 1-trillion USD economy by 2037 and a 3-trillion USD economy by 2047.

The Chief Minister called for every Fortune 500 company to establish presence in the city, framing participation as critical to competitive positioning. Bharat Future City is being developed as the fourth city in Hyderabad, following Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad.

Singapore Consultants and Master Plan Process

Singapore-based Surbana Jurong has been tasked with preparing the master plan for the core Bharat Future City, while DP Architects will draft the plan for the entire Future City Development Authority (FCDA) area. This dual-consultant structure reflects the scale of the project: the FCDA area spans 765 sq km across 56 revenue villages in seven mandals of Ranga Reddy district.

Singapore-based DP Architects has been appointed to prepare the comprehensive master plan for FCDA, expected to deliver within 9 months, with the selected consultant required to submit the master plan by December 2026. The comprehensive master plan will be unveiled in December at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2026 to be held at the project site.

Land Use and Specialized Zones

The project is conceived as a net-zero smart industrial city with provisions for energy-efficient systems, climate-responsive planning, green infrastructure, water reuse and sustainable development practices.

The development plan proposes designated zones for sectors including medicine and research, industries, entertainment, eco-tourism, artificial intelligence, electric vehicle manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and life sciences.

The Life Sciences Hub spans 4,000 acres; an AI City will occupy 403 acres complemented by a Health City spanning 594 acres; a Data Centre Hub allocated 313 acres will support digital economy infrastructure, with an Education and University Zone occupying 255 acres.

Anchor Investment and Current Phase

A major global anchor investor has broken ground; in July 2026, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid foundation stone for an Amazon Web Services hyperscale data centre campus reportedly spanning 300 acres in total, with 202 acres inside Bharat Future City zone. This is part of a broader multi-year AWS regional investment commitment to Telangana, with first phase targeted for completion within roughly 24 months.

Over 80 layout applications from private developers are actively being submitted to FCDA for approval as the authority builds out its processing capacity.

Governance and Implementation

The project is being developed by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) within FCDA limits. The FCDA is a functioning authority, and its dedicated police commissionerate has been running since September 2025 with real administrative infrastructure already in place.

The government is constructing radial roads and developing port connectivity, including a 12-lane highway from Bharat Future City to Machilipatnam Port.

Comparison to Andhra Pradesh Precedent

Chandrababu Naidu had used two Singapore Companies to design the Master Plan of Amaravati. The Opposition was able to pin down Naidu saying that he is selling the lands of the farmers to Singapore; among many factors that contributed to Naidu's defeat in 2019 elections, Amaravati also played an important role. The Revanth Reddy announcement signals Telangana's willingness to pursue a parallel strategy despite the political risk demonstrated by Andhra Pradesh's experience.
