The reports describe this as a funding release and land handover, not a completed project milestone.

What was decided

Central equity worth Rs 428.14 crore was released to the project through NICDIT, and the state moved the matching land through KINFRA. The UNI wire report is dated 2 October 2026, while the Metrovaartha report that the editor's brief cites was published about 4 October 2026, so the transfer itself is best dated to early October 2026 pending an official order.

The Malayalam Metrovaartha report frames the tranche as the fifth stage of funding and land and states that the target completion is April 2029.

Who acted and under what structure

The project is run by KICDC, a special purpose vehicle that KINFRA and NICDIT set up with equal equity. KICDC coordinates the infrastructure work, while the state government holds the land and the Centre provides the central share through NICDIT.

Funding and land history

The table below lists the tranches that the sources describe. The fourth tranche is not described in the sources reviewed, so it is not listed.

Practical effect

The release gives KICDC the central equity and land it needs to keep infrastructure work moving. A contract for the infrastructure package has been awarded, and the first-phase package was estimated at Rs 1,100 crore in the state's tender notice.

A July 2026 IANS report said land allotment for units requiring more than 50 acres was expected from early 2027. That is a plan from that report, not a confirmed allotment schedule.

Status as of October 2026

Funds and land have been transferred, which is a notified funding and transfer event. Construction is under way and tracked against an April 2029 target. Industrial units are not yet operating on the site, and no allotments are reported in the sources as completed.
