AURIC Land Allotment Committee Approves ₹200-Crore Industrial Plot Allotments (August 2025)

What was decided

Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Area, branded as AURIC in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, has approved the allotment of industrial plots to several companies during a recent Land Allotment Committee meeting. The approved allotments span across sectors including specialty food ingredients, paper products, electronics manufacturing, road construction equipment, and alloy casting. These projects together represent investments of over ₹200 crore and are expected to create approximately 1,000 jobs.

The Land Allotment Committee, comprising officials of Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) and NICDC, considered applications under the Priority and Expansion categories. The proposals were evaluated based on project feasibility, turnover, land requirements, and future expansion plans, as per the information submitted by applicants.

Who decided — the authority behind AURIC

AURIC is developed by a special purpose vehicle originally incorporated as Aurangabad Industrial Township Limited (AITL) on 12 December 2014. The SPV was later renamed to Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) to include other Industrial Corridor projects in the State. MITL continues to use AITL's legacy e-procurement and tendering infrastructure for AURIC-related contracts. AURIC is India's first integrated Greenfield Smart Industrial City, developed under the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC). The Land Allotment Committee that took this decision draws its membership jointly from MITL (the state-level SPV, successor to AITL) and NICDC (the national corridor development body).

The five allotments — operative details

Science for Society Techno Services Pvt Ltd has been allotted a large 37,388 sq m plot in Sector 12 and recognized as a Mega Project. The company plans to set up a specialty food ingredient manufacturing plant with an investment of ₹104 crore. The project is expected to generate 325 jobs and will incorporate a zero-discharge system to minimize its environmental footprint.

M/s. Lonbest India Pvt. Ltd., also granted Mega Project status, has been allotted a 37,388.70 sq.m. plot in Sector 12. The company plans to set up an electronics manufacturing system, including production of chipsets and PCBs, with a proposed investment of Rs 110 crore and the creation of around 500 jobs.

Alankar Engineering Equipments Pvt. Ltd., engaged in manufacturing road construction equipment, has been allotted a 7,378 sq.m. plot in Sector 5 for expansion, with an investment of Rs 17.50 crore. The company already holds an 8,200 sq.m. plot allotted in July 2022.

M/s. Varad Alloy Casting has been allotted a 6,057 sq.m. plot in Sector 5 under the priority category for expansion, where it will establish a new foundry for aluminium castings and die casting.

In the paper products sector, Su-Tantra Paper Products Pvt Ltd has been granted a 370.79 sq.m. plot adjacent to its existing facility in Sector 5, Shendra. This allocation will support the company's expansion efforts, allowing it to scale its current operations. The firm presently reports an annual turnover of ₹8–10 crore, and the expansion is aimed at enhancing production capacity and operational efficiency.

Practical effect

The decision confirms real, committed occupancy of specific plots in Sectors 5 and 12 of AURIC's Shendra node, rather than a general policy announcement — each named company now has an allotted plot, a stated investment figure and a category (Priority or Expansion) attached to its file. Two of the five allottees, Science for Society Techno Services and Lonbest India, were separately classified as Mega Projects, a status that typically triggers additional incentives under Maharashtra's industrial policy framework, though the specific incentive package for these two allottees was not detailed in the announcement.

The Committee, comprising officials from Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) and NICDC, evaluated proposals under the Priority and Expansion categories based on project feasibility, turnover, land requirements, and expansion potential.
