Over the past two to two-and-a-half years, the Bidkin industrial belt has triggered a new era of large-scale investment, with marquee companies like Ather Energy, Toyota-Kirloskar Motors, and JSW Green Mobility announcing investments worth thousands of crores. Toyota is setting up its plant across 817 acres, JSW Group has acquired 90 and 520 acres for two separate projects, and Ather Energy is developing its facility across approximately 100 acres.

Construction Status and Timeline

Most companies have secured environment clearances and commenced construction, with production mandatory within five years of plot allocation. Ather Energy, Toyota-Kirloskar Motors, JSW green mobility (both plants), and Indo auto technology are nearing completion; Toyota Boshoku, Cosmo films, and Uno Minda are currently in progress; while LNK Energy has recently performed its groundbreaking ceremony and commenced construction. Notably, Endurance has already completed construction and commenced operations.

Product Mix and Ancillary Development

Bidkin DMIC will soon produce SUV-segment vehicles, electric two-wheelers, electric buses, and pharmaceuticals, with Toyota-Kirloskar Motors also establishing a residential skill development centre. Several ancillary industries will further support the supply chains of these major players.

Commercial and Hospitality Sector Growth

14 commercial plots in Bidkin DMIC have been sold out, with the largest spanning over 7 acres. Premium 5-star hotel chains are now showing active interest in the zone, signalling Bidkin's rise as a full-fledged commercial and hospitality destination.

Employment and Economic Impact

Bidkin DMIC has attracted Rs 83,892 crore in investment, initially creating 46,122 jobs expected to cross 1 lakh at full capacity. This transformation represents one of the most significant industrial relocations in the Marathwada region, shifting focus from agriculture to advanced manufacturing and green energy technologies.
