The bhoomi pujan (ground blessing) marked the formal inception of the twin-township project.

The two townships carry a combined cost of around Rs 12,000 crore, spread over 10,680 acres, and will provide housing to close to 10 lakh people. The CM highlighted the importance of Naimisharanya and said that the LDA has brought a new scheme, Naimish Nagar, in the bordering area of Lucknow and Sitapur to keep the spiritual and cultural heritage alive.

Scheme Scope: Naimish Nagar Component

The proposed Naimish Nagar Yojna on Sitapur Road, spread over an area of 3681.6872 acres, will develop into a model of development, giving a new identity to the northern part of Lucknow. Approximately 1486.689 hectares of land across 18 villages in B.K.T. Tehsil has been identified for the Naimish Nagar Yojna.

LDA has announced Naimish Nagar as a township of about 4,100 acres, spread across 18 villages of Bakshi Ka Talab tehsil, and has put the cost of acquiring this land at around Rs 4,785 crore.

Phase 1 Plot Inventory & Sectoral Division

Naimish Nagar, spread across roughly 3,600 acres along IIM Road and Sitapur Road in the Bakshi Ka Talab area, will open 1,179 plots in its own first phase. Naimish Nagar's first-phase allotment is split between two sectors, first is Brahma Khand, with 669 plots, and other is Bhoomi Khand, with 510 plots.

The proposed residential plot sizes range from approximately 72 square metres to 450 square metres.

Plot Pricing & Rates

ETV Bharat (25 September 2026) reported 1,673 phase-1 plots there at Rs 3,800 per sq ft, with the two schemes together covering about 10,680 acres. The final notified price will be important for applicants and should be checked in the official LDA scheme brochure.

Registration Period & Process

Registration for the Uttar Pradesh Housing Scheme 2026 opened on 24 September 2026 for both Varun Vihar Yojna and Naimish Nagar Yojna, and closes on 24 October 2026 at 11:59 PM. That gives applicants one month to complete the process.

The LDA has confirmed that registration for Naimish Nagar and Varun Vihar will begin from 6 pm on the official portal. LDA accepts applications only through its online registration portal and does not take forms at its office counters.

Every applicant pays a booklet fee of Rs 1,100 during the online application, and LDA does not refund this amount whether or not the applicant wins a plot.
