Airports

The single biggest connectivity asset for New Yamuna City is Noida International Airport (IATA: DXN) at Jewar, inside the YEIDA notified area. Noida International Airport (DXN), located in the strategic heart of Jewar, was officially inaugurated on March 28, 2026. Sources differ slightly on the exact date commercial services began — one account states commercial domestic operations are scheduled to commence in mid-April 2026, launching with 10 high-demand routes including Mumbai, Goa, and Bengaluru, while another dates the start of commercial flights to mid-June 2026. As of July 2026, the airport is operational with domestic services running; a full international schedule and Phase 2 capacity are still being built out. The airport has a 3,900 metre runway capable of handling wide-body aircraft, with infrastructure in place to support around 150 daily flight movements, along with 10 aerobridges and 28 aircraft stands.

At launch, road is the only way in: as of early 2026, access to the airport was still primarily road-based via the Yamuna Expressway, with no metro or rail link operational yet. Ground access is being expanded via a Ground Transport Centre being built in phases through 2030 to handle tens of thousands of vehicles.

Expressways and Highways

The Yamuna Expressway is the spine of the region. It is a 6-lane (expandable to 8), 165.5 km long access-controlled expressway in Uttar Pradesh that connects Greater Noida with Agra, operational since 2012. Yamuna Expressway: 45–55 minutes via Pari Chowk / Sector 82 access, with the nearest operational metro being the Noida Aqua Line for last-mile transfer by cab.

Several new or upgraded road links are under active construction or planning as of 2026:

Rail and Dedicated Freight Corridors

New Yamuna City sits close to two major national freight corridors. The growth dynamics of YEIDA are affected by infrastructure projects such as the Golden Quadrilateral, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the Western and Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFC), and the nearby DMIC investment node. The nearest rail gateway is the Greater Noida (formerly Boraki) railway station: it lies on the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, and the under-construction Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor–Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (EORC-HORC) ring railway around Delhi.

This station is being significantly upgraded: it is undergoing major redevelopment as the Greater Noida Terminal, a world-class multi-modal transport hub, declared a special railway project in December 2024, involving 12 platforms and 63 yard lines across 46 hectares within a larger 176-hectare integrated complex including an inter-state bus terminal, local bus stand, and a metro corridor. As of November 2025, land acquisition work for this terminal was reported to be progressing. A proposed Noida–Chola Railway Branch (~20 km) is also planned to connect a future cargo hub to the existing rail network, though it remains at the proposal stage.

Metro and RRTS Proposals

No metro or RRTS line reaches YEIDA sectors or Jewar airport yet. The nearest operational line is the Noida Metro Aqua Line: it has 21 elevated stations covering a distance of 29.7 km, connecting Sector 51 in Noida to the Depot station in Greater Noida.

Aqua Line extension to Jewar: There is a plan to extend the Aqua Line to Noida International Airport at Jewar; this extension will be about 37 km long and will connect Noida and Greater Noida to the airport with new stations. As of July 2026 this remains pre-construction: because NMRC is a Central Government undertaking under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, construction will begin after PIB approval and take approximately two years to complete, with Greater Noida West residents able to expect metro access by 2028–2029. Under the equity model, the central government, the Uttar Pradesh government, and Noida and Greater Noida authorities will jointly fund the project, and while the Aqua extension is separate from the RRTS, it will enhance last-mile connectivity to the airport by linking to the RRTS network at interchange points.

Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS: this is the higher-capacity long-term link. The corridor length is expected to be about 72 km, running from Ghaziabad to Noida International Airport through major urban nodes including Siddharth Vihar, Greater Noida West, Surajpur, Pari Chowk, Kasna industrial area and Yamuna Expressway development sectors. Station counts vary by source — one estimate gives approximately 22 stations in total, including 12 RRTS stations for high-speed regional trains and about 10 metro or local transit stations for urban connectivity — while another guide cites a shorter 71.1 km alignment with 11 stations and a target cost of roughly ₹16,000 crore. Both agree the project is still at planning/DPR stage, with a realistic target around 2031.

Other proposals: a Ballabhgarh–NIA metro link via Palwal (studies done, DPR pending) and a pod-taxi system of roughly 14.5 km with 12 stations connecting the airport to the proposed Film City have both been floated by YEIDA but have no construction start date.

Ports

New Yamuna City is landlocked and has no seaport. Its freight relevance to ports comes indirectly through the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor: the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor is 1,506-km long and connects Dadri town in Uttar Pradesh with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. This gives industrial units in the YEIDA belt a rail-linked path to India's largest container port, but it is a freight/logistics link, not passenger connectivity.

Internal Road Network

Within the notified area, YEIDA's master planning explicitly builds in multiple layers of transit rather than road-only access. The plan envisages extension of the Delhi Metro network up to the upcoming Noida International Airport, an orbital rail corridor, Regional Rapid Transit System, Dedicated Freight Corridors, High-Speed Rail and RRTS to Khurja and Palwal to aid intercity movement through public transport. Internally, sector roads are being built out alongside the airport's dedicated cargo access roads, and YEIDA has separately proposed metro connectivity purely for the township: YEIDA has proposed metro line connectivity of the YEIDA region with Greater Noida, Noida and Delhi, and as part of improving connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, a metro corridor is also being proposed. For now, day-to-day movement inside the notified sectors relies on state/YEIDA-built link roads feeding into the Yamuna Expressway, since at launch in mid-2026, the expressway remains the primary and only practical access route.
