YEIDA 91st Board Meeting Approves Airport Industrial Node, ICMR Research Centre and International Trade City Plan

What the Board decided

YEIDA's 91st Board Meeting was chaired by Alok Kumar, Chairman of YEIDA and Additional Chief Secretary (Industrial Development), with Board Secretary Rakesh Kumar Singh presenting the agenda. The meeting was held on a Wednesday and reviewed the authority's revenue and expenditure position alongside a set of new project approvals. Among the approvals: an Industrial Node near Noida International Airport, examination of a proposed International Trade City, land for an ICMR research centre, a solid waste facility near Dhanauri Wetland, a fire-safety fund, and adoption of Noida Authority's hotel development policy framework.

Airport Industrial Node and the proposed International Trade City

Among the major approvals was the development of an Industrial Node near Noida International Airport, expected to attract manufacturing, logistics and allied industries. The new corridor is planned on the southern side of the airport, stretching towards Agra, with authorities to identify suitable sites for new industries. This is described as the second large industrial corridor planned around the airport, after YEIDA's earlier approval of a corridor covering around 8,000 hectares between Tappal and the airport. The Board approved the proposal, with preparation of a master plan for the new corridor expected to begin soon.

The Board also examined plans for establishing a YEIDA International Trade City, envisioned as a major commercial hub to promote domestic and international business activities. Hindi-language coverage of the meeting describes the concept as being modelled on China's Yiwu international trade market, though this remains at the review/planning stage rather than a final approved layout.

ICMR research centre — Sector 9

In another significant decision, the Authority approved the allotment of 30 acres of land in Sector 9 to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for setting up a state-of-the-art research centre that will strengthen medical research and innovation in the region. One report additionally frames the facility's remit as a leading national centre for medical research, disease prevention and the study of emerging health challenges, strengthening the region's healthcare infrastructure. As of July 2026 this is a land allotment/approval, not a completed or operational facility.

Environmental, civic and infrastructure approvals

• Approval was granted for establishing a solid waste management facility near the Dhanauri Wetland to improve environmental management and waste disposal.
• The Board sanctioned ₹50 crore for the Uttar Pradesh Fire Services Department to enhance firefighting infrastructure, particularly for high-rise buildings expected to come up across the region.
• The Board approved adoption of Noida Authority's policy framework for future hotel development schemes to ensure uniformity in planning and implementation, and gave approval for a Master Plan road linking Sector 7B and Sector 8D.
• To provide relief to affected villagers, officials were instructed to issue reservation letters for 7% developed abadi plots immediately after completion of land acquisition.
• The Board also reviewed the progress of NTPC-supported electric and hydrogen-powered bus services.

Financial position and on-ground industrial progress

According to the financial review presented to the Board, YEIDA's total receipts rose to ₹1,371.75 crore by 30 June 2026, compared with ₹640.01 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier. During FY2026-27 the authority spent ₹2,101 crore on development projects, of which around ₹1,741 crore — nearly 82% of total expenditure — went on land acquisition.

The meeting reviewed progress across the MSME Park, Handicraft Park, Toy Park, Apparel Park and Medical Device Park, with officials reporting that 63 lease deeds had been executed and 15 industrial units had already commenced commercial operations. Possession of plots had been handed over to 118 allottees, building plans were approved in 62 cases, and twelve industrial units were registered under the Factory Act.
