Project Office Inaugurated, Next Phase Begins

Following the completion of the first-phase tendering process for the Kochi-Bengaluru industrial corridor, Palakkad Smart City inaugurated its project implementation office in September 2025. Land Transfer Progress to Development Corporation

Land held by KINFRA is being gradually transferred to the Corridor Development Corporation, with 110 acres transferred in December, followed by 220 acres in March. The Kerala Government has transferred 316 acres of land to the corporation, bringing the total central commitment to Rs 613.7 crore and the state's contribution to 646 acres of land. The implementation of the project is managed by the Kerala Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Ltd. (KICDC), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) jointly formed by the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and the Government of Kerala.

The Kerala Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (KICDC) announced that infrastructure development for the Palakkad Industrial Smart City will be implemented in a single phase, with KICDC beginning preliminary preparations to move the project into its execution stage. KICDC plans to complete infrastructure development within 42 months, after which land allotment to companies will begin. The scope of work includes the development of internal roads, drainage systems, bridges, water supply and firefighting systems, wastewater recycling units, a sewage treatment plant, and a power distribution network.
