What has been announced
In July 2025, IHCL entered into an agreement with Ambuja Neotia Group to establish 15 new hotels across multiple states, to be completed over the next three to seven years. The same month, the partners said a few select projects would feature Taj-branded villas in Darjeeling, Sikkim, Lataguri and Raichak.
IHCL's upcoming portfolio lists the Lataguri project as "Taj Resort & Taj Villas (Branded Residences)." IHCL operates the hotels under its agreements. Ambuja Neotia Group is the developer named in the announcements.
The Taj villas are described as Taj-branded luxury villas. The announcements do not give a unit count, unit sizes or a price band for these villas.
Status and approvals
As of October 2026, the project is at the upcoming stage. The IHCL announcements list it as a planned project. No launch date, booking or expression-of-interest opening, or sales listing has been reported.
The project has no RERA registration as of October 2026. Ambuja Neotia's separate Vanya Awas project in Lataguri is a different development and should not be read as the same registration.

Jalpaiguri Road station is part of a redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and is in progress.
