Infrastructure in the area

A report from May 2026 describes a 20 km corridor with a total cost of ₹2,360 crore, spread across 1,300 hectares, with a 300-metre development zone on both sides of a 75-metre road. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for the first phase at Nainod village on 3 May 2026.

Cost estimates for the first phase differ between reports. One report gives ₹326.51 crore, while a March 2026 trade report refers to over ₹250 crore for a 19.6 km first stretch.

On the rail side, Rau is a station on the Indore-Dahod line, whose revised overall completion target is 28 February 2027. Indore Metro's Yellow Line opened its first 6 km priority corridor on 31 May 2025, and a further stretch to Radisson Square opened in September 2026. The metro line does not yet reach Rau.

Local context

Rau is described as an educational and industrial hub with several agricultural implement and trolley manufacturers. Hospitals including Multani, New Minesh and Mamta serve the area. Schools such as Delhi Public School and Emerald Heights International School are located in Rau. A trade report on the launch says the western belt around Rau has drawn growing interest because land is available at lower prices than in central Indore or on the Super Corridor.
