MahaMetro formally launched the tender process for the Ramwadi–Wagholi Metro extension under Phase II of the Pune Metro project. The 11.63-km elevated corridor, planned along Ahilyanagar Road, aims to strengthen connectivity across key residential and commercial hubs such as Viman Nagar, Kharadi and Wagholi.

The first phase is about 4.7 km. The first phase of the extension will cover approximately 4.7 km between Ramwadi and Tuljabhavani Chowk. Four stations are planned along this section: Vimannagar, Somnathnagar, Kharadi Bypass and Tuljabhavani Chowk. No opening date has been announced. The corridor is still at the survey and preparatory stage as of October 2026.
Officials have said the project will involve an investment of Rs 36.26 billion, to be equally borne by the state government, central government and external funding agencies.
