Who is developing it, and for whom

Vasanthanarasapura already hosts several linked KIADB projects, including the Tumakuru Machine Tool Park — a "not for profit" company for implementation of Integrated Machine Tool Park at Vasanthanarasapura in Tumakuru District, planned in an extent of 530 acres of KIADB Land with a view to attract investments in the Machine Tools sector — and the existing Japan Industrial Township. Company filings corroborate ongoing activity in the township: a December 2025 stock-exchange disclosure referenced a facility in the Japanese Industrial Township Vasanthanarasapura 3rd Phase Industrial Area, Tumkur District for the manufacture of Electrical Generators, Motors, their sub-assemblies and Parts that has now commenced commercial operations — evidence that allotment and build-out in the existing township's later phases is active and current.

What happens next — process and timeline

As of the announcement, the park had not yet opened for formal applications. Applications for allotment are expected to open soon, according to KIADB's CEO. The formal legal and administrative steps are still pending: KIADB is expected to formalise a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and launch the allotment process within the coming months.
