Airports
Harnandipuram has no airport within its own boundary, but it sits between two functioning air facilities and one under-construction one.
- Hindon Airport (Sahibabad, Ghaziabad): Operational.
Status: Operational (since 2019).
Hindon Airport, also known as Hindan Airport, is a small yet significant domestic airport located in Sikandarpur village, Sahibabad, in Ghaziabad, and it is roughly 30 km from Delhi's Connaught Place. Work began in August 2018, and by March 2019 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the terminal, with the first UDAN flight taking off in October 2019. It is reachable from the township via Raj Nagar Extension and the Delhi–Meerut Expressway.
Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), Delhi: Operational. The nearest major airport to Ghaziabad is Indira Gandhi International Airport, around 45 km away. This is reached by road via the Delhi–Meerut Expressway/NH-9 or by metro/RRTS interchange.
Noida International Airport (Jewar): Under construction. This is a separate airport in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, roughly 60–90 km from Ghaziabad depending on the route taken. A dedicated rail link (Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS, see below) is proposed to connect it to Ghaziabad but is not yet under construction as of mid-2026.
Expressways and Highways
Two major expressways already run close to the township site and are fully operational; a proposed peripheral road inside the notified area is still on the drawing board.
Delhi–Meerut Expressway (NE-3)
Status: Fully operational (since April 2021). The Delhi-Meerut Expressway route runs from Nizamuddin Bridge (Delhi) to Meerut (UP-72), a total of 96 km, and its status is operational. The final section was completed on 1 April 2021 and opened to the public. The township site is described in project listings as being about three km from the Delhi-Meerut Road, behind Raj Nagar Extension.
Eastern Peripheral Expressway (NE-2 / KGP Expressway)
Status: Fully operational (since May 2018). The Eastern Peripheral Expressway is a 135 km, 6-lane expressway passing through Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, inaugurated on 27 May 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Baghpat. GDA officials have said Naya Ghaziabad will get excellent road connectivity to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway via Duhai.
Local arterial roads
The site is bounded by existing arterial roads rather than new expressways: it will stretch from Pipeline Road in the north to Northern Peripheral Road in the east and Morta in the south, with the Hindon River flowing through certain parts. These roads exist today but widening/upgrade works tied specifically to the township have not been publicly detailed as of July 2026.
Rail, RRTS and Metro
Delhi–Meerut RRTS (operational Namo Bharat corridor)
Status: Partly operational. The RRTS project spans 82 kilometres and aims to connect Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut with high-speed train services. Ghaziabad RRTS station was commissioned on 20 October 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the 17 km long Sahibabad–Duhai section, opening to the public on 21 October 2023. The Ghaziabad station is described as being close enough to the future township that GDA has said the project will be located at a five-minute-distance from the Rapid Rail Transit Corridor, and easy access to the Namo Bharat Expressway, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, and the Delhi Metro.
Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS (proposed, linked to Noida airport)
Status: Proposed / DPR stage, not under construction. This is a proposed 72.44 km semi high-speed rail corridor connecting Ghaziabad and Noida with Noida International Airport at Jewar, the fourth of four RapidX corridors under NCRTC. In April 2024, its Detailed Project Report was submitted to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. The line has a deadline of 2041 and is planned in two phases, with Phase 1 running Ghaziabad–Kasna. As of September 2025 the alignment shown publicly is indicative only, pending construction bids.
Delhi Metro — Red Line
Status: Operational (since March 2019). In January 2014, DMRC and MoHUA approved a 9.5 km extension from Dilshad Garden to Ghaziabad ISBT (New Bus Adda); construction began in early 2015, and the route opened for passengers on March 8, 2019. The Ghaziabad Metro covers a distance of approximately 10 km and has 10 operational metro stations, including both Blue and Red Lines, all elevated.
Delhi Metro — proposed extensions
Status: Proposed, funding stage. The Uttar Pradesh government plans to approve two new metro extensions in Ghaziabad and Noida — a line from Vaishali to Mohan Nagar and another from Noida's Sector 62 to Sahibabad — with funding approval expected soon, costs estimated at Rs 1,517 crore for the Noida-Sahibabad route and Rs 1,808.22 crore for the Vaishali-Mohan Nagar route. Neither extension directly enters the Harnandipuram footprint as currently described.
Regional rail
Ghaziabad Junction is the main railhead serving the district, on the Delhi–Meerut/Saharanpur and Howrah–Delhi lines, and remains the fallback long-distance rail link for the township pending any dedicated station.
Dedicated Freight Corridor
Status: Present in the vicinity, not a passenger link. The Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) does not serve passengers but intersects road infrastructure near the township's approach roads. A short connector package of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway was built specifically because the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) passes over it. This means Harnandipuram sits within the broader freight-and-logistics corridor zone that GDA and 99acres coverage associate with the area, alongside references to a planned Logistic Hub nearby, though no freight facility has been confirmed as sited inside the township boundary itself.
Internal Road Network
Status: Planned, not yet built. No internal road construction has been reported as of July 2026 — the project is still at the land-acquisition stage. Developer and GDA-linked project pages describe the intended layout as wide internal roads, open green buffers and clearly defined sectors forming the foundation of the township, with planning that includes well-planned road networks, efficient public transport systems, and green spaces. These are design intentions from the master plan/DPR process rather than sanctioned engineering drawings, and should be treated as proposed until GDA publishes an approved layout plan.
Ports
Harnandipuram is an inland township roughly 1,400 km from the nearest major seaport; no port or inland waterway terminal is relevant to this location, and none is referenced in any GDA or state government material reviewed for this page (as of July 2026).

Frequently asked questions
Is Harnandipuram Township connected to the Delhi–Meerut RRTS today?
The nearest RRTS station, Ghaziabad, has been operational since October 2023 as part of the Sahibabad–Duhai section. The township site itself does not yet have a dedicated station, but GDA officials have described it as being about five minutes from the corridor.
Which expressways serve the Harnandipuram site right now?
The Delhi–Meerut Expressway (NE-3), fully operational since April 2021, and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, operational since May 2018 and reachable via Duhai, are the two expressways cited in GDA and media coverage of the site.
Will Harnandipuram get its own metro or RRTS station?
No dedicated station inside the township has been announced as of July 2026. Existing Delhi Metro Red Line (Shaheed Sthal/New Bus Adda) and Ghaziabad RRTS stations serve the wider area, and proposed metro extensions (Vaishali–Mohan Nagar, Sector 62–Sahibabad) are still awaiting funding approval.
How far is the nearest airport from Harnandipuram?
Hindon Airport in Sahibabad, operational since 2019 under the UDAN scheme, is the closest domestic airport. Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, roughly 45 km away, is the nearest international gateway.
Is the Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS link to Noida International Airport confirmed?
It is proposed, not confirmed for construction. The Detailed Project Report was submitted to YEIDA in April 2024 and the project has a planning deadline of 2041, but construction contracts have not yet been awarded as of the most recent public updates (September 2025).
Does the township have its own internal road network yet?
No. As of July 2026, GDA is still in the land-acquisition phase for Harnandipuram, so no internal roads have been built. Master-plan documents describe intended wide internal roads and green buffers, but these are design proposals, not completed infrastructure.
