Its proximity to NH-40, NH-716, Kadapa Airport, and ports such as Krishnapatnam and Chennai gives it a strong logistical edge, positioning it as a vital maritime trade and export gateway for the region.
Infrastructure Features
These modern multi-sectoral industrial hubs feature plug-and-play infrastructure and a walk-to-work concept. The development includes comprehensive trunk infrastructure for water supply, wastewater treatment, power distribution, and road connectivity within the park. Environmental clearance was obtained in 2024, allowing construction to commence.
What This Changes
The foundation stone marks the formal commencement of physical development for one of India's 12 newly approved National Industrial Corridor Development Programme projects. With the addition of these 12 new parks, India will soon have 20 smart industrial cities—including four operational and four others under construction. For Andhra Pradesh's Rayalaseema region, specifically, the project signals a shift toward manufacturing-led industrial growth in a historically agrarian area. Following the foundation stone ceremony, APICDC will oversee detailed engineering and trunk infrastructure development. The project is expected to be operational in phases over the next 5–7 years. Tender processes for the Programme Manager and detailed engineering packages are underway as of late 2024. Once operational, the site will begin attracting anchor industries and MSMEs across multiple sectors, including automotive, electronics, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and defence manufacturing.
