Land Acquisition Completed
Land has been purchased across the four villages of Mohiuddinpur, Chhajjupur, Kayastha Gaongri, and Ikla on the basis of consent from farmers, with 100 hectares purchased as of March 26, 2025. By August 2025, 127 hectares of land had been purchased, with acquisitions underway in Mohiuddinpur, Chhajjupur, Ikla, and Kayasth Gaondi villages.
Budget and Funding
The government has sanctioned Rs 409 crores to the account of Meerut Development Authority (MEDA). Apart from the funds received from the government, MEDA also has an additional Rs 350 crores from its infrastructure funds. The overall integrated township project is valued at Rs 2,570 crore.
Development Plan and Timeline
The township is planned to be developed in two sectors – phase 1 and phase 2. Both sides of the township have been divided into 31 sectors. Development work was expected to start within one month (from March 26, 2025), with plot allocation to begin in two months. Work in two sectors was expected to be completed by November 2025, with the township officially launched on Diwali when plot sales begin.
Mixed-Use Design and Housing Categories
The township will follow a mixed-use model with residential, commercial, and industrial activities on different floors of the same buildings. Plots will be made available for EWS (Economically Weaker Section), LIG (Low Income Group), MIG (Middle Income Group) and HIG (High Income Group) categories, with provisions for affordable housing targeting NCR residents.
Infrastructure and Amenities
Key features of the township include schools, a medical college, and consolidated divisional offices, aimed at generating employment and attracting industries. The development work will begin with the construction of wide roads to strengthen connectivity.
Status as of July 2026
The drone survey for the state's first integrated TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) township in Meerut has been completed. Based on the survey, a detailed layout plan will now be prepared. Land acquisition and initial layout development are underway.
