What was announced and who said it

The update came at a press conference in Noida. Suraksha Group Promoter Sudhir Valia stated that over the last two years, Suraksha's primary focus has been on streamlining and accelerating construction for existing homebuyers. The company's statement was dated 30 July 2026. Suraksha Group, which acquired Jaypee Infratech Limited (JIL), has significantly accelerated construction and infrastructure development across Wish Town township in Noida.

The company has not published a separate regulatory order for the March 2028 date in the sources we reviewed. The date is the company's own commitment, which sits within the approved resolution plan.

Progress so far: built, but not all certified

The gap between construction and occupancy is the main issue for buyers. Structural audits have also been completed for seven towers comprising 583 units. Fire NOC has been received for two of these towers, while approvals for the remaining towers are under process. Audits are underway for another nine towers comprising 888 units.

A Times of India account, relayed by Inventiva, put the pending OC applications at another 28 towers covering 2,385 flats. That differs from the company's figure of 26 towers and 2,229 units, so readers should treat the pending count as unsettled. Using the 4,213 certified units against 7,913 built, one analysis calculates that approximately 3,700 completed homes lack OCs.

The money: amount and sources

The headline figure is about ₹5,500 crore. Earlier reports varied. In April 2025, Suraksha Group-controlled Jaypee Infratech on Thursday said it will invest around Rs 6,000 crore over the next three years to complete stalled housing projects, comprising 20,000 units. Later coverage used ₹5,500 crore. Separately, one 2026 report says the group plans to invest ₹3,000 crore more to complete the project.

On cash, the company cited a credit line. Panchamia said that the company is in a comfortable position in terms of cash flows, with a Rs 3,000 crore credit line fund in place. Toll income was also cited as a source: "There are inflows expected from sold receivables and also from the total toll collections from the Yamuna Expressway, which is to the tune of around Rs 450 to 500 crore," he added. The 2025 report did not say whether that toll figure is annual.

Oversight and risks

The project is under court supervision. In February 2026, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) appointed a two-member committee to monitor the progress of construction. This committee was established to directly address grievances raised by homebuyers.

Construction risks remain. The project execution timeline could be impacted by external factors, including periodic construction bans imposed by the National Green Tribunal during high air pollution periods in the National Capital Region. Sales are also a risk: thousands of completed units currently remain unoccupied, which may impact the developer's ability to quickly monetize inventory.

Background: how Suraksha took over

The case dates back to 2017. Jaypee Infratech Ltd is facing corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) since August 2017. On May 24, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) upheld Suraksha Realty's bid to acquire Jaypee Infratech Ltd (JIL) while directing it to pay Rs 1,334 crore to Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) as compensation to the farmers.

City of the Ganges: what the sources say

City of the Ganges is named in the company's roadmap. Suraksha has also laid out future roadmap for three townships across 465 acres—City of the Ganges, Enterprise City and Yamuna Smart City. We did not find project-level details for City of the Ganges, such as its size, approvals, phasing or land use, in the sources reviewed, so none are given here.

What comes next

The next checkpoints are the pending OC approvals, the remaining structural audits and Fire NOCs, and the company's progress against the March 2028 date. Reports from 2025 gave earlier timelines. The company aims to finalize these deliveries by 2027. The 2026 date is the one in the most recent reporting we found, so buyers should check the company's updates against it.
