Airports
Noida International Airport (Jewar, IATA: DXN) is the closest airport to Taiwan City and the reason the YEIDA area, including Sector 6, is being marketed to Taiwanese electronics and supply-chain firms.
- Status: Operational (partially). The DGCA aerodrome licence was granted on 6 March 2026, which officially cleared the airport for flight operations. The airport was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 28, 2026.
- Commercial ramp-up: Launch reports differ slightly on the exact start date of scheduled flights, but by mid-2026 the airport was flying regularly. Noida (Jewar) International Airport is set to significantly expand operations from 1 July 2026, increasing from 12 daily flights across 5 destinations to around 40-45 daily flights serving 16–17 destinations.
- Capacity and infrastructure: The airport has a 3,900 metre runway capable of handling wide-body aircraft, with infrastructure in place to support around 150 daily flight movements, along with 10 aerobridges and 28 aircraft stands. Phase 1 capacity is 12 MPPA, scaling to 70 MPPA by 2040.
- International flights: Not yet running as of mid-2026; multiple reports point to a later-2026 target, with the airport first stabilising round-the-clock domestic operations.
- No airport rail/metro yet: No metro, no RRTS, no rail link of any kind reaches DXN on 15 June 2026.
Expressways and National Highways
Road access to the Taiwan City sector is anchored on the Yamuna Expressway, with several newer corridors proposed or approved to widen access to Delhi, Faridabad, Gurugram and the airport.
- Yamuna Expressway — Operational since 2012. Yamuna Expressway is a 6-lane (expandable to 8), 165.5 km (102.8 mi) long access-controlled expressway in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It connects Greater Noida with Agra. It links to NH 334DD in Jewar; NH 334D in Tappal; NH 530B in Mathura; NH 509 in Khandauli and terminates on NH 19 at Agra.
- South Delhi–Faridabad–Gurugram–Jewar elevated corridor — Approved, not yet built (as of March 2026). This 31.42 kilometres long project corridor will provide direct and high-speed connectivity from South Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram to Jewar International Airport. The corridor intersects the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and Dedicated Freight Corridor, enabling multimodal transport convergence.
- DND–KMP Expressway spur — Proposed. This expressway has an additional 31 km long spur from Sector-65, Faridabad bypass to Yamuna Expressway, connecting Jewar Airport.
- Jewar–Tappal-Bajna economic corridor — Proposed. YEIDA has also approved a proposed industrial and economic corridor between Jewar and Tappal-Bajna, covering manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, MSMEs and related uses.
Rail and Dedicated Freight Corridors
The YEIDA belt, including the Taiwan City site, sits between India's two Dedicated Freight Corridors, giving planned manufacturers a route to India's largest container port network.
- Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (Dadri–JNPT) — Operational. Status: Operational... Completed: March 2026. It runs between Dadri in Uttar Pradesh (near Delhi) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Navi Mumbai, Raigad District, Maharashtra.
- Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor — Largely complete, connected via branch line. This corridor has a 46 km branch line which is joining Khurja (Bulandshahr district) on the Eastern DFC with Dadri (Gautam Buddha Nagar district) on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. As of August 2023, 1150 km or 86% of the Eastern DFC has been completed.
- Logistics clustering: Regions such as Dadri, Greater Noida, and Jewar are witnessing accelerated development of multimodal logistics parks, warehousing zones, and industrial hubs due to their strategic connectivity with both the Eastern and Western DFCs.
Metro and RRTS Proposals
Fixed-rail passenger connectivity to the airport and YEIDA sectors — including Sector 6 — is still in the planning and design stage; nothing is running yet.
- Noida Metro Aqua Line extension (Sector 142 to DXN) — Proposed/DPR stage. The Noida Metro Aqua Line extension from Sector 142 to DXN has a finalised DPR but construction has not started. The earliest realistic completion is 2028.
- Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS — Under revision. Originally a 72 km proposed semi-high speed rail line with 12 stations planned to connect Ghaziabad – Greater Noida – Jewar Airport as part of Delhi's Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). NCRTC submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to YEIDA in April 2024, after the Uttar Pradesh Government had already granted in-principle approval in December 2023. However, the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has declined the National Capital Region Transport Corporation's (NCRTC) proposal for a 72km Ghaziabad-Jewar rapid rail corridor... Instead, it has mandated a revised alignment starting directly from Sarai Kale Khan. NCRTC will now conduct a fresh survey and prepare a new DPR for the Sarai Kale Khan-Jewar route.
- Delhi–Meerut RRTS (Namo Bharat) — Operational, but doesn't reach the airport. The Delhi-Meerut RRTS Namo Bharat, operational since 22 February 2026, does not serve DXN directly. It remains relevant as the interchange point for the proposed Ghaziabad–Jewar line.
- Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor — Proposed regional link. This will also enable connectivity between Hisar Airport and Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport), and Jewar Airport to IGI Delhi.
Internal Road Network and Local Access
Within the YEIDA master-plan area, Sector 6 (Taiwan City) and the neighbouring pharmaceutical cluster depend on YEIDA's internal sector-road grid, which is built out progressively as sectors are notified and allotted.
- Sector location: In Sector 6, the Authority reserved 300 acres for a Taiwan City to draw electronics and technical manufacturing firms from the country. The same sector also hosts a proposed pharmaceutical cluster: A further 100 to 125 acres in the same sector will host a pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing cluster producing tablets, capsules, injectables and oral liquids under national and international GMP norms.
- Interstate bus terminal — Approved, near airport. A site in Sector 23C, close to the airport, has been identified for an international bus terminal. The proposed terminal is intended to improve connectivity between the airport and towns and cities in western Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring regions.
- Public bus network expansion: Public transport expansion: The proposed terminal and expansion from 100 to 500 city buses should improve the movement of people within the wider corridor.
Ports and Long-Haul Logistics
YEIDA/Taiwan City has no seaport of its own — it is a landlocked industrial node roughly 1,400 km from India's western coast. Its practical port connectivity comes entirely through rail and road linkage to Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) near Mumbai.
- Rail-to-port link: The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor runs between Dadri in Uttar Pradesh (near Delhi) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Navi Mumbai, Raigad District, Maharashtra. Dadri, the northern terminus, is within the wider Greater Noida–Jewar logistics belt that YEIDA's industrial sectors, including Sector 6, are meant to feed into.
- Air cargo: Once Noida International Airport's cargo operations mature, it is expected to give Sector 6 manufacturers an alternative export route, similar to how established exporters elsewhere use proximity to international airports for time-sensitive shipments.
Frequently asked questions
Is Taiwan City in YEIDA already operational?
No. As of September 2026, Taiwan City is a reserved 300-acre parcel in YEIDA Sector 6, approved at YEIDA's 92nd board meeting on 17 August 2026. Plot allotment and infrastructure build-out had not been detailed publicly at that point.
Which airport serves the Taiwan City site?
Noida International Airport (Jewar, IATA: DXN), inaugurated on 28 March 2026 with a DGCA licence granted 6 March 2026. It is within the same YEIDA-administered area as Sector 6, though no metro or rail link connects the two yet.
Can I take a metro or RRTS to Taiwan City today?
No. As of mid-2026, no metro, RRTS or rail line reaches the airport or YEIDA's Sector 6 area. The Noida Metro Aqua Line extension has a finalised DPR but construction hasn't started, and the Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS alignment is being redesigned by NCRTC after MoHUA rejected the original route.
What is the main road link to Taiwan City right now?
The Yamuna Expressway, operational since 2012, is the primary access route, running 165.5 km between Greater Noida and Agra and passing through the Jewar area near YEIDA's sectors.
Does Taiwan City have freight rail access for exports?
Indirectly, yes. The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, fully operational since March 2026, connects Dadri (near Greater Noida) to Jawaharlal Nehru Port near Mumbai, and the Eastern DFC links in via a branch line at Khurja–Dadri, giving the wider region rail access to India's largest container port.
Is there a dedicated highway planned just for the airport/YEIDA belt?
Yes — the Centre approved a 31.42-km elevated corridor connecting South Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram directly to Jewar Airport, intersecting the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Yamuna Expressway and the Dedicated Freight Corridor. As of March 2026 this was an approved project, not yet built.
