What the state is building
The state is gathering roughly 1,000 acres for a cluster focused on data centres and information technology, and 810 acres of the targeted 1,000 acres have been amassed so far, according to officials. The hub is meant to generate integrated infrastructure facilities for multifarious industrial activities in BIDA, which officials link to the state's ambition of becoming a $1 trillion economy.
The hub sits inside the wider authority. The proposed hub would be a part of the overarching Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA), which is envisaged over an area of 56,662 acres.
Land approvals and acquisition progress
The state has cleared acquisition of land in two stages. Of BIDA's targeted 56,662 acres across 33 villages, the state government has approved 35,298 acres and 21,364 acres for acquisition in the first and second phases, respectively.
Buying has moved steadily. According to BIDA data as of October 1, 2026, 28,874 acres of the 56,662-acre area approved across 33 villages for the project have so far been acquired. In September 2026 alone, 616 acres of land were acquired, bringing the total to 28,874 acres. That total is more than 80 per cent of the targeted first phase.
The authority has also drawn a boundary for the first development block. BIDA has demarcated swathes spanning 2,320 acres as activation area, while 1,000 acres are proposed for development, and a Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been submitted to the government.
Planned sectors and who is driving it
The zone is intended as a modern industrial hub on the lines of Noida and Greater Noida, with room for automotive, defence, FMCG, healthcare, logistics, IT and institutional development. The acquired land will be allotted for industrial, commercial and infrastructure development.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary S P Goyal has pushed officials to move faster on buying land for the authority and other large industrial schemes. Chief Secretary S P Goyal has directed officials to speed up land acquisition for BIDA and other large industrial projects.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the authority's progress and asked for better links to the zone. He has emphasised the extension of the Agra-Gwalior Expressway, the Delhi-Chennai railway line, a multimodal logistics park, and the creation of a link expressway from the Bundelkhand Expressway.
Master plan status and what comes next
The draft sector plan for the 1,000-acre zone is ready, but it will be finalised only after the master plan is approved. The draft sector plan has also been prepared and will be finalised after approval of the BIDA Master Plan 2045, officials informed.
Sources describe the master plan's status differently. An earlier state review said the Master Plan-2045 for the BIDA area has been approved, covering 253.33 sq. km, while the October 2026 reports still tie the sector plan to that approval. The authority's own concept calls for a "Green Industrial City" on a concept of live, work & play.
Infrastructure design work for the activation area is already under way through consultant appointments. BIDA has issued a tender for selection of consultant for conducting technical and financial feasibility, preparing detailed engineering designs and detailed project reports for various infrastructure components proposed under Activation area of Master Plan-2045. Next steps include state sign-off on the 1,000-acre DPR, completion of land acquisition for the 1,000-acre hub, and final approval of the sector plan.
