Haryana Chief Secretary Rastogi Reviews IMC Hisar Progress, Cites Environmental Clearance Advances

What Happened

Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi reviewed progress on the IMC Hisar Project, with the review aimed to speed up decisions and keep work on schedule. The meeting included senior officials from several departments and project bodies—civil aviation, irrigation, and power utilities officials—signalling coordinated planning for utilities and permissions.

Key Findings on Environmental Clearance

An official statement said a large section already has environmental clearance, with clearances for the remaining land at an advanced stage. This represents progress in regulatory requirements for the 1,605-acre Phase I portion of the broader cluster.

According to G Anupama, Additional Chief Secretary of the Civil Aviation Department, work is moving ahead across several tracks, with planning, infrastructure building, and regulatory clearances progressing together to keep momentum and support quicker rollout.

While chairing the review, Rastogi stressed coordinated action between departments and flagged the need to finish tasks within set timelines. Officials said the project is meant to raise Haryana's industrial capacity, attract investment and enable large-scale employment linked to new manufacturing units.

Project Scale and Scope

The cluster is being developed under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor near the newly inaugurated Maharaja Agrasen International Airport, Hisar, Haryana. Strategically located between the EDFC and WDFC, it offers excellent connectivity via NH-52, NH-09, rail links, and proximity to major logistics hubs.

The master plan provides for a balanced industrial ecosystem, with around 61% of the land earmarked for industrial and logistics activities. The cluster will cater to sectors such as aerospace and defence, engineering and fabrication, food processing, garments and logistics.
