What Was Announced

The Land Acquisition Problem—and Its Resolution
LDA planned this project in 2011, modeling the layout after Singapore; however, the land acquisition could not take place due to land rate conflict with the farmers and the project became stuck in courts and legality. In September 2019, the LDA agreed to provide compensation to farmers up to double the circle rate, which would be adjusted by increasing the value of the plots. This settlement represented a turning point after nearly a decade of gridlock. LDA resolved the decades-old issue with farmers on land acquisition and will provide double the cost of circle rate, allowing the scheme to move forward.
Scale and Investment
The project is spread over 2,100 acres and will cost around ₹4,500 crore. Prabandh Nagar is one of four major townships proposed across approximately 7,181 acres under the Lucknow Master Plan, with each township including residential, commercial, and institutional areas along with healthcare, education, entertainment, and green infrastructure.
