Manesar Global City: Connectivity — Airports, Expressways, Rail & Metro

The Manesar node of Haryana's Panchgram project sits at the junction of the KMP Expressway and NH-48, and is targeted for a cluster of rail, metro and rapid-transit links that are mostly still under construction or on paper rather than running today.

Where this fits: the Panchgram/KMP framework

Manesar Global City is the Manesar-area node of Haryana's broader Panchgram programme, an umbrella scheme to build new townships along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway. Haryana has proposed developing areas around the KMP Expressway as Panchgrams — five greenfield townships to be detailed in the state's Sub-Regional Plan, with development planned 2 to 6 kilometres on both sides of the expressway loop, governed by a dedicated Panchgram Development Authority. The scheme has had a chequered legislative history — Panchgram was former CM ML Khattar's dream project, and sources indicated the Panchgram plan approved in 2018 would be transformed and tweaked to meet the needs of today — but as of mid-2026 it has been formally re-anchored. The Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister confirmed that a Panchgram Development Authority has been constituted by the state government to develop 5 new cities along both sides of the proposed expressway. The Manesar node is further reinforced by the Manesar-Bawal Investment Region, a DMIC-linked national industrial priority zone anchoring the southern KMP stretch, which the plan mandates be integrated into all state sub-regional plans.

Expressways and highways

Manesar already sits on two operational expressway-grade roads, with two more under construction nearby.

Rail and dedicated freight corridors

Freight rail infrastructure around Manesar is largely built; a dedicated passenger/freight orbital line is under construction.

Metro and RRTS proposals

No metro or RRTS line reaches Manesar today; all links are in planning, design, or pre-construction stage.

Airports

No airport sits within the Panchgram/Manesar footprint itself; access is via two external hubs.

Internal road network within the plan area

A formal internal road hierarchy specific to "Manesar Global City" has not been published; what exists is the wider KMP/Panchgram design framework. Development is planned 2 to 6 kilometres on both sides of the expressway loop, which is intended to give each Panchgram node direct frontage onto the KMP. Locally, IMT Manesar Chowk functions as the key landmark connecting Sector 1 IMT Manesar, Kasan Village, and NH-48, and existing industrial roads in IMT Manesar and its extension sectors form the base grid that any Global City-branded expansion would need to tie into. No dedicated internal arterial network, sector-road plan, or RERA-registered layout for a stand-alone "Manesar Global City" road grid was found in current public records as of July 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Is Manesar Global City connected by metro today?

No. As of July 2026 there is no operational metro line into Manesar; the nearest working stations are on Delhi Metro's Yellow Line (e.g., Huda City Centre), reached via NH-48 and local transport. A Gurugram Metro loop toward Manesar is still in the DPR/design stage.

When will the Delhi–Alwar RRTS reach Manesar?

Construction on the approved 105 km Sarai Kale Khan–Bawal phase, which includes Manesar and Panchgaon stations, is slated to begin around August 2026, with commercial operations targeted for November 2031.

Is the KMP Expressway fully built?

Yes. The six-lane, roughly 135–136 km KMP/Western Peripheral Expressway has been operational since it was inaugurated in 2018.

What rail freight infrastructure serves the area?

The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, which runs through the Gurgaon-Palwal belt and intersects the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway near Sancholi and Paroli villages, is fully operational as of March 2026. A separate Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor through Manesar is under construction, with one short Manesar–New Patli stretch already running since 2025.

How does the plan connect to airports?

There is no airport within the plan area. Delhi's IGI Airport is reached via NH-48 (a road journey currently of 90 minutes to two hours in peak traffic), and the new Noida International Airport at Jewar is being linked via the DND–KMP Expressway and a dedicated greenfield expressway still under construction as of late 2025.

Is the Panchgram/Manesar Global City project still active?

The project has had a mixed history — reports in December 2024 suggested it had been shelved in favour of a broader 'Dashagram' industrial-towns scheme — but by April and June 2026, officials confirmed the Panchgram Development Authority had been constituted and the scheme was formally backed in the Draft NCR Regional Plan 2041.
